If that wasn't a Mods' uphill record I don't know what has ever beaten it. 41-0 at half time. Many of the 19 spectators reckoned they'd had value for money so took to the warmth of the bar for the second period-so missing out on much of Owen Walker's side show. Not that the match on the field was ever particularly dull but there was a marvellous distraction on the far side of the field: Owen strapping together anything that was extendable and prodding it up to the top of one of the Mods' mighty oaks. After three weeks, night and day; man and boy he freed the offending rugby ball. Thirty seconds later it was stuck up another tree!!
A very good performance all round by the Mods with nobody having a bad game. Stand-outs were probably Bateson, McNamara, no. 16 and no. 8. Well played lads. There are many in their ranks who have the ability to play in our higher teams.
