1st XV v Burley (h) League match. WON 24-20.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tries: Borrill, Rankin (2), Sadkowski.
Cons.: Gilfoyle (2).
Att.: 54 including a pretty solid "Old School" turn-out: John Knapp, Gaz Lister, Heald, Barker, Scott, Westmoreland, Smart & Jackson.
Wearing our "Kwik Save" change strip to avoid being mistaken for Burley players (perish the thought!) we weathered intense pressure to storm the early points for a 10-0 lead before Burley reaped the first of two interception tries (the providers of which shall of course remain known only to those who know!) 10-5. Rankin's short, gutsy burst to the line restored our margin before Gilfoyle tacked on the two on 35 mins. to bring a 17-5 lead reduced to 17-8 with a Burley penalty moments later. Half time. Burley had played sufficiently well to be a serious second half threat playing down the slope. Nerves were eased on 55 as Sadkowski scorched a hole in the opposition defence for a score under the sticks. Gilfoyle improved and despite the second Burley intercept and a soft try from a quick free kick we had enough in the tank to hold out for a (just about) deserved victory.
Well done Mods. Table-toppers still!!.

2nd XV v Burley (a) Merit match. WON 54-0.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tries: Oddy (2), King (2), Simpson, Blackburn, Anderson, Singh, Beefy.
Cons.: Beefy (2), Oddy.
Pen.: Beefy.
3rd XV v Old Rishworthians 2nd XV (a). LOST 19-12.
An apparent misunderstanding between Animal and the referee led to a truncated 10 minute second half. Rest-assured we would have won if the match had gone its natural distance!
