MATCH REPORT Mods' 2nd XV v Leeds Corinthians..Half time 7-7 The match started in bright sunshine and deteriorated rapidly until the start of the second half found me at home with a cup of currant tea and a strong scone. The black clouds; decribed by Mr Armitage as the type that would blow over; dropped an increasing deluge upon my personage and my camera equipment before passing over at 7:15 p.m.! Mods' played downhill first half with all the weather stuff at their backs. They pretty much dominated the territory but failed to score the try their pressure demanded. Sod's Law deemed Corinthians would score a break away. They did: 0-7 after 20 minutes. Corinthians were buoyed by their lead and played some very good rugby at times before a mixture of over-elaboration or occasionally greed, got the better of them. Mods' held together and right on the whistle scored a good try down the right flank: Speedster going over for the 5 and a brilliant touuchline conversion put over by Jake. 7-7 and time for that cup of tea. Unfortunately I caught some of the Scotland-England match! This just served to confirm my opinion that almost any match at Mods' 1/2/3 level is more entertaining than the tripe dished up by Internationals. Thanks for the first half to Mods and Corinthians. I'll let everybody know the final score a.s.a.p. UPDATE Try by Sadkowski & pen from Jake in 2nd half won Mods' the match. WELL DONE!! Conje.
