Match report Mods 2nd XV v O. Otliensians (A) LOST 6-8 Pens: Fraser (2) Following the postponement of the 1st XV's Cookridge Lane encounter I trekked the short journey to Otliensians for a taste of 2nd XV action. Given that the Mods' ground was more suited to water polo than rugby, the playing surface at Otley was a credit to the draining abilities of the River Wharfe and God Himself. It took a good stud and that was about it. Incredible. The game itself was a tight affair but with Otliensians always in charge and looking the more capable of adding to their tally. It was only Mods' resolute defending which prevented that happening. Whilst we had a few breaks they usually broke down well before the Otley danger area. A very determined display but shaded by the slightly better team on the day. Conje.
